Disney's Contemporary Resort Balconies and Patios
Disney's Contemporary Resort hotel, near the Magic Kingdom in Disney World has three types of balconies: 1) regular balconies, (2) ground floor patios, and (3) faux-balconies. We'll show you photos of all three balcony types and tell you which rooms have each type. Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of the original official Walt Disney World hotels and is a "monorail loop" hotel, meaning that the Disney World monorail has a station at the hotel, in fact, the monorail passes right through and stops inside the Contemporary Resort's main tower.
This article just focuses on the resort's balconies and isn't a full review or a comprehensive list of resort amenities.

Disney's Contemporary Resort - Main Tower
All guest rooms in the Main Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort have balconies
You will definitely have a balcony if you reserve a room in the main tower of Disney's Contemporary Resort. There are no ground floor rooms so none of the rooms in this hotel have patios. Because there are rooms on both sides of the building, you must reserve a "Theme Park View" room to guarantee a view of the Magic Kingdom and these rooms do cost more. There are also tower rooms with a view of Bay Lake.
Disney's Contemporary Resort - Garden Wing
Patios and faux-balconies in the Garden Wing at Disney's Contemporary Resort
The Garden Wing is a 3-story structure on the south side of the Main Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. These rooms are less expensive because they are not directly adjacent to the monorail, restaurants and food court. There is a covered (but not enclosed) walkway from the main tower to the entrance of the garden wing. These rooms are closer to the resort's marina and are one of the best values to be found in the Magic Kingdom monorail loop hotels. There used to be two garden wings but one wing was demolished to build Bay Lake Tower. The rooms in the second and third floor of the garden wing do not have balconies - instead, there are three large windows with a rail across the front that provides a consistent look to the buildings exterior. The ground floor rooms do have patios - end rooms have "private" patios, although they are right next to the building entrance so private is a relative term. Ground floor rooms on the sides of the building have shared patios. The least expensive rooms are Garden Wing - Garden View rooms provide a view of the gardens, pools, marina or Bay lake. There are no Theme Park View rooms in the Garden Wing.
