Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort Pros and Cons
The Pros
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is very pretty resort and the tropical look is a fun choice for guests who come from parts of the world that don't have palm trees. This resort has one of the best pool areas on Disney property for families with young kids - the pool itself features a zero-depth entry and there is a pirate ship slash zone that is a lot of fun. Though not visible everywhere, some of the higher flying Epcot fireworks are visible from parts of the resort. The rooms at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort now have queen beds instead of double beds and there are some rooms that include a pull-down bed that can typically accommodate guests up to about age 9, depending on height, which increases the occupancy of these rooms to 5 guests. The addition of the Skyliner station to this resort made this the most popular of the four Disney World moderate resorts.
The Cons
While Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort offers a plethora of perks, there are a few aspects to consider. The resort's sheer size can mean that accommodations might be a bit of a walk from certain amenities. Some guests might find the transportation to and from the parks via the Disney Skyliner a bit time-consuming, especially during peak hours. It's worth noting that the resort's 2-story buildings do not have elevators, which could be a consideration for those with mobility challenges or strollers. Ground floor accessibility rooms are available. While the rooms are comfortably appointed, do not offer the same level of luxury and upscale finishes as some of the higher-priced deluxe resorts. Additionally, the resort's popularity means that it can get quite busy during peak vacation seasons, potentially impacting the tranquility some guests seek. However, despite these minor considerations, the resort's overall charm, value, and immersive experience make it a fantastic choice for a Disney vacation.
Our Opinion
If Disney's Caribbean Beach resort was a resort by the ocean or on an island, I would give it a hearty recommendation in a heartbeat. In that situation, the size would be a wonderful thing. Because the resort is at Disney World, the size is a bit of a disadvantage because the average guest spends so much time in the theme parks which can be tiring and you may not enjoy the walk to your room. If you've read many of our resort presentations, you know that we're not quick to recommend room upgrades but, in the case of this resort, we think that the "preferred location" rooms are probably worth the cost, especially if you don't have a car. You'll definitely want to include a building request with your standard location room reservation. The swimming pool & splash zone at Disney's Caribbean Beach make this resort a great option for families with young kids, especially if you're going to take breaks and spend time enjoying the resort.
